F5 Guitars — YouTube thumbnail
A thumbnail built on the classic "problem vs solution" technique that boosts video click-through rate.

Challenge
Our client Ivan (guitar brand F5 Guitars) came to us asking to create a thumbnail for a YouTube video that would be instantly readable in the recommendation feed and motivate users to press play. The video topic is a comparison of two approaches: buying a new guitar versus starting your own guitar brand.
Solution
We built the thumbnail on the classic YouTube "split frame" technique: the left half in red tones with a cross (the "buy a guitar" option as the less profitable one) against the right green half with a checkmark (the "start a brand" option as the right answer). The contrasting diagonal colors immediately grab attention in the feed, and the large text and the person's facial expression strengthen the emotional hook.
Final mockup
One cohesive layout — a contrasting comparison, portrait and guitar render in a single composition.

Video thumbnail
Split red/green composition • Portrait • 3D guitar render • F5 Guitars logo
Results & Impact
High potential click-through rate thanks to the contrasting "problem/solution" comparison
F5 Guitars brand recognition through the logo in the frame
The format is optimized for the standard YouTube thumbnail aspect ratio
Client review 💬
“The thumbnail turned out very bright and catchy — the video CTR noticeably improved. Thanks for the work!”
